I love to feel that they let me. That we together in a collaboration are creating something that we both can stand by. I am in my images as much as the subject that I am directing and photographing. We mirror each other in each other's mistakes, movements, and personalities. Together in a collaboration we create an atmosphere that is safe, secure, and filled with trust. I will dare to say that I am a brave photographer and director, because I am curious and vulnerable with my subjects.

Fashion is a reflection of the culture, and within the microclimate of the Berlin fashion scene we see a manifestation of Germany’s polarised nature. During Berlin Fashion Week AW24 (5-8th February) we saw both ends of the spectrum, from outrageous and unapologetic statements with fantastically diverse casts to more conservative and careful collections presented on casts of almost entirely tall, skinny, cisgender, white models.

The studio only takes up half the room but the energy radiating from it fills up every corner. It is most concentrated around the four individuals that are huddled on the couch and chairs in their puffy winter coats and whose creativity and passion has brought Afrobodega to life.
